About Jane
Professional:
I am a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach. I received my training and International Coach Federation accredited certification from the Coaches Training Institute which is the industry leader and largest in-person coaching facility in the world in addition to being the most rigorous and respected in the industry. I am also a Certified Hypnotist and member of the National Guild of Hypnotists which is the oldest and largest hypnotism organization in the world with the most widely recognized credential for the professional practice of hypnosis. I received my training in Clinical Hypnosis For Clients and Groups at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies. I am also a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) and have an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Toronto where I completed a double major in sociology and social cultural anthropology.
I have over 18 years of corporate experience ranging from human resources (HR), operations, management, sales, marketing and finance. The diverse industries I have worked in such as technology, financial services, engineering and not for profit, gives me extensive knowledge of different corporate cultures and how to thrive within them. My last corporate position was as a Senior HR Director for a financial services company and HR is in fact where I discovered my love of coaching. I feel very passionate about helping people achieve their goals. I realized that I could better serve individuals using my corporate knowledge and experience but without actually wearing the corporate hat. One-on-one coaching is the perfect vehicle that allows me to do that. I’ve provided coaching to business leaders and owners, senior executives, people and project managers and employees for a large part of my career. Now, with coaching, I can focus solely on you and your goals.
Personal:
I realized when standing over the ruins in Rome one summer that there has been so much history and so many people before us and so much more to come after us. I realized in that moment that my purpose in life was simply to leave the world a better place than I found it. I’ve always been passionate about helping people whenever I can but particularly in times of need – when they are feeling stuck, alone or maybe a little lost. I personally have been through changes in my own life; I’ve been married, divorced and remarried and feel grateful that my wonderful husband and I have recently celebrated our 11 year wedding anniversary. I love food (or more specifically eating food), I love to see and experience new things and it’s typically the beauty of nature that inspires me. I’ve recently taken up piano again and have to admit that I love karaoke as well as horseback riding. I am a volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross – Disaster Management Program and have volunteered with Hospice Vaughan. Music and art speaks to me and I love the feeling when you’re at the theatre and the lights dim just as the show is about to start. My strongest values include honesty, kindness, integrity, effectiveness, simplicity and excellence. My hope for myself and others is to always be striving to be the best version of ourselves.
